My name is Celso Barriga. I live in southern New Hampshire.

I photograph because I want to hold on to things that don't hold still — a particular light, a moment of quiet in a busy street, something ordinary that briefly isn't. I'm drawn to stillness. I want the photographs to slow the viewer down, if only for a moment. If they feel timeless, or a little nostalgic years from now, I'll have done what I was trying to do.

I shoot with available light and no hurry. Mostly I walk.

This site is a journal. Not every entry will be remarkable. Some will just be notes from a walk.
